Who We Are
Metro Volunteer Lawyers (MVL) is an attorney referral service where attorneys provide free or low-fee legal assistance. MVL accepts and refers only civil cases that are not fee-generating.

Please bring a translator for initial screenings and intake. (Certified translators provided for court and administrative hearings.)
- Income Guidelines
If household monthly gross income is within $300 of 125% Fed Poverty Guidelines, you can be referred to a lawyer on a low-fee basis
Services with low fees: $200 flat fee for bankruptcy cases; $35/hour for others; $100 for simple estate planning
